Dr. Kirk Cates

Dr. Kirk CatesFor the past 20 years, Dr. Kirk D. Cates has administered the tests given to develop the Individual Cognitive Plan (ICP) for each student.

His education includes a B.A. in Special Education and two M.B.A. degrees. In November 2008, he received his Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology specializing in Attention Deficit Disorders With or Without Hyperactivity from the University of Teesside in Middlesbrough, England.

While working on his Ph.D., he completed 5 years of research using techniques of curriculum objectives that FCM uses when developing the ICP.

He continues to publish and speak at seminars on the importance of teaching to the child’s needs.

He and his wife Patti have one son, Ian James.
